Welcome to class!

This class covers what to expect and how to manage daytime and nighttime sleep in babies from 0-6 months, including information on laying a healthy foundation for sleep, normal developmental changes, and how to prevent and resolve common sleep challenges.

Part 1: The Basics

In Part 1, we introduce the foundational elements essential for setting your baby up for sleep success.

You'll learn about:

  • Choosing a safe sleep location and following safety recommendations

  • Transitioning from a newborn sleep space to a crib

  • Optimizing your baby's sleep environment

  • Selecting appropriate sleep attire

  • When and how to transition out of a swaddle

  • Medical causes of sleep disruption

  • Pacifiers: pros/cons, what to expect, and when to stop

  • Creating sleep routines for evening and morning

Many parents notice improvements after making the changes suggested in this chapter alone!

Part 2: Sleep Timing and Schedules

Part 2 will guide you through age-appropriate sleep and night-feeding expectations. You'll also learn how to adapt your baby's schedule as your child grows.

You'll learn about:

  • How your child's circadian rhythm development and sleep pressure influence sleep timing

  • Recognizing and using sleepy cues to adjust sleep timing

  • Month-by-month normal sleep and night feeding patterns

Part 3: Solving Newborn Sleep Problems

Part 3 addresses common newborn sleep challenges. With your baby’s temperament and your family’s goals in mind, we provide you with interactive, age-appropriate strategies to prevent and manage sleep problems and guide your baby toward better sleep.

You'll learn about:

  • Strategies to help "velcro" babies learn how to sleep in a separate space

  • The Baby Sleep Science Happy Crib Time™ baby-led strategy to foster independent sleep over time

  • The Four-Month Sleep Regression: how natural changes in sleep development can affect sleep and how to minimize the impact of this regression

  • Interactive, parent-led approaches to guide babies over three months to independent, consolidated sleep

  • How to apply these strategies to naps

It’s hard to capture the depth of detailed information, practical solutions, and unique infographics you’ll find in this video series. This project has been a labor of love, and we're excited to share it with you. We can’t wait to support you on your journey to better sleep!
